Contact MeAbout me
Welcome! My name is Aaron and I believe that generosity makes the world a better place. I have been a hobby guitarist for over 25 years and I started teaching guitar a few years ago as a fundraising initiative for the Alberta Cancer Foundation – an organization that I am very passionate about supporting. By generously giving people my knowledge and time for free, I hoped they would reciprocate by contributing to my fundraising page for the Enbridge Tour Alberta for Cancer – an event that I participate in every year. Not only were my ‘free guitar lessons’ highly successful at raising more money for the Alberta Cancer Foundation, but I also discovered that I really enjoy teaching people how to play the guitar!
Your success is just as important to me as it is to you. I want all of my students to achieve their goals, have a fun and positive experience, and simply enjoy the journey of learning how to enrich their lives with a musical instrument.
I specialize in teaching beginners, and I do not believe in a cookie cutter approach that works for everyone. While there can be many similarities, everyone is unique, so I work with all of my students to develop individual learning goals and lesson plans to suit their specific needs. I also provide free learning materials, much of which I develop myself.
Supporting Your Learning, While Giving Back
I do not charge a fee for any in-person lessons. Instead, I ask for your commitment to donate a minimum amount per lesson to any of my current fundraising initiatives. I always support the Alberta Cancer Foundation, and I may also support other charitable organizations from time to time.
- I have personally raised a total of $55,848 for charity since 2018!
Guidance and Support for Self-Learning
It is very achievable for anyone to become a great guitar player without ever going to an in-person lesson! If you are interested in learning on your own but do not know where to start, I can provide online guidance that might be just what you need. I recently started a free community on Patreon.com with the goal of supporting mature individuals on their journey of self-learning. It is not bound by my limited schedule to provide in-person lessons, or by geography!
As a member of my free Patreon community, you will gain access to my custom curated beginner learning materials, other useful information, and fun backing tracks to practice with that I create myself! You can chat with me about anything that you might be struggling with, and I can help you set individual learning goals and guide you towards specific exercises that will help your growth. I will also provide you with as much inspiration as possible to help fuel your desire to practice and learn – just think of me as your personal guitar guide, mentor, or coach! You can even connect with members of my community for great conversations and encouragement from others who are also self-learning just like you!
Did I mention that my Patreon community is free? If you appreciate what I do, all I ask is that you please give back by making a donation to one of the charities that I support. Generosity makes the world a better place! :)
Note: You will need to purchase a Guitar Pro 8 license to use my content.

We are thankful to have found a teacher as patient and supportive as Aaron. He is very good at assessing student's abilities and adjusting lessons accordingly. We are delighted with the confidence and progress that our 5 year old son is making week over week. All credits to his Aaron Sir. He makes learning so much fun!
- Sandra Nolette
I have thoroughly enjoyed my guitar lessons with Aaron. He is very accommodating and has a tremendous desire to share his passion of guitar with others. He's patient and kind and works to your level, but pushes you just enough to encourage you to try harder. I have always had "learn guitar" in my bucket list of things to do at almost 60, I'm finally doing it with Aaron's help.

Aaron is such a generous and amazing person. His willingness to share his passion for music with others and give so selflessly is truly inspirational. Thank you for all you do, Aaron!
